World of Warcraft Classic has released the five-player Dire Maul Dungeon. Located in Feralas, Dire Maul is encompassed within three wings. Players can go explore the ancient corridors if all they're after is just some fun while earning profit along the way. However, for those who want more powerful rewards and buffs, they can try and go after the ogre tribe on Tribute Run. It also comes with "The Maul" a free-for-all outdoor PvP arena.

In this guide, we take a closer look at this new dungeon, particularly some of the rewards that await.

Before we head off to the guide, let's look a bit at the lore. The Dire Maul was built thousands of years ago with the intention of housing the arcane secret of kaldorei. However with the once Eldre’Thalas lying in ruins, it is writhing with warped, twisted forces. In the past many covens fought to control the corrupted energy of Dire Maul, but they have since agreed to enter into uneasy truces. The covens have agreed to exploiting the power within their own territories instead of fighting over the whole dungeon.

The Dire Maul has 16 Bosses and while the level range is 54-60, it is recommended that players be at least level 55 to ensure a higher chance of success. Don't go into Dire Maul if you're not ready, as this is a particularly dangerous dungeon. If you want to make it through all three wings, you need to have a good team.

So how do you get to Dire Maul?

  • Horde
    • The closest flight path is Camp Mojache.
    • Once you reach the camp, go West until you reach a road in the High Wilderness that forks to the North.
  • Alliance
    • The closest flight path is Feathermoon Stronghold
    • Once you reach the camp, go East until you reach a road in the High Wilderness that forks to the North.

As mentioned, once you enter Dire Maul, there are a lot of challenges for players to undertake to earn interesting rewards.

The first is the Orb of Deception, which is a world drop found all throughout Azeroth. Players have the option to farm it within Dire Maul. This is possible because of the large number of creatures to kill. So what does this random drop do? The Orb of Deception changes your identity to that of the opposite faction. Use it with care, since not all players can be fooled so easily. When in PvP, for example, your name still appears as an enemy despite the change in appearance.

In Dire Maul, there are three Librams that can be earned through quests. These are:

  • Libram of Focus
    • Used to create the Arcanum of Focus which permanently enchants a leg or head slot with +8 to Healing and Damage from spells.
  • Libram of Protection
    • Used to create the Arcanum of Protection which permanently enchants a leg or head slot item with 1% dodge.
  • Libram of Rapidity
    • Used to create the Arcanum of Rapidity which permanently enchants a leg or head slot item with 1% haste.

Another reward players can look forward to is the Royal Seal of Eldre’Thalas. Each class can complete a quest available at level 60 within Dire Maul in order to get a beneficial trinket. To get the reward, players need to exchange it with a book that can be looted from creatures.
