"Minecraft" is sharing a batch of fresh skins from the "Superman" movie alongside its premiere in cinemas, and players may grab them for free on the renowned sandbox game starting today. In collaboration with DC and the latest "Superman" movie from James Gunn, "Minecraft" is bringing five iconic comic book and movie characters to the Overworld without any additional costs.

While waiting for the release of James Gunn's new take on the Man of Steel, venture on to "Minecraft" with these free skins to add to the game and suit up as different characters in their block-y versions.

'Minecraft' Shares Free 'Superman' Movie Skins

Minecraft Marketplace announced via a post on X that players may now get the chance to become a hero on "Minecraft" with the new Superman Skin Pack available for free in the game. This latest skin pack appears to be a collaboration between Mojang Studios and DC's "Superman" movie, also as a way to promote the upcoming film that will premiere on July 11.

It should be noted that it is only a skin pack that makes its way into "Minecraft," and players will get a chance to suit up as Superman and other iconic characters from the film when they redeem the freebie.

Users may now redeem their free skin pack from the "Minecraft" Marketplace website for free, and it only requires them to have a legitimate copy of the game to successfully get the new cosmetics. The skins were developed by Oreville Studios, which also offers a list of other free skin packs to download for the "Minecraft" Bedrock Edition.

Suit Up as 5 Characters from the 'Superman' Film

According to ComicBook Gaming, this is not the first time that "Minecraft" has collaborated with iconic franchises, including comic book superheroes, in the sandbox RPG game, but now it focuses on DC's "Superman."

There are five characters from the film that are featured in this pack, including the likes of Superman, Lois Lane, Green Lantern (Guy Gardner), Hawkgirl (Kendra Saunders), and Mr. Terrific.

It is worth noting that there is a significant absence of one iconic character, and that is Kal-El's arch nemesis, Lex Luthor. The villain is not included in the free skin pack but there is still hope for Luthor's future appearance, as well as a bald Minecraft skin, in the future based on a teaser mentioned by the announcement.

While this latest release centers on a skin pack only, a "Superman" DLC is in the works, according to Mojang Studios, one that would feature more experiences and themes related to the superhero.

However, there are still no concrete details about this, particularly in what the additional content would bring and which characters it will add in the future.

Moreover, there are still no release dates that have been shared as of press time.
