'WWE 2K25' Adds Former TNA Star Abyss to Roster as Dream Comes True for Joseph Park

Even Abyss was shocked upon knowing this "bucket list moment."

Abyss (Joseph Park in real life) is known to be a popular wrestler from TNA Wrestling. Although Abyss never laced up a pair of boots in a WWE ring, he recently became the latest part of the growing "WWE 2K25" roster as downloadable content.

For Abyss fans dreaming of seeing their hero in a wrestling game, this is the best thing to witness in a lifetime. Even the person behind the mask was surprised that he had already checked this achievement off his bucket list.

Joseph Park Describes the Offer as a 'Bucket List Moment'

Interviewing with Fightful, Joseph Park explained WWE's offering of the chance last summer. WWE approached him and he was shocked to learn that he would be one of the characters in the "WWE 2K25" universe.

Abyss felt honored to be recognized. He quickly accepted the offer after WWE had obtained the consent of TNA to feature the character. Park said that his being included in a WWE game is something he had always aspired to, describing it as a real "bucket list moment."

How Abyss Made It Into 'WWE 2K25'

The "WWE 2K25" DLC has a unique combination of characters not featured in previous games. Shaquille O'Neal, for instance, now appears in the "Dunk & Destruction" DLC.

Abyss' situation was different. He's a wrestler but did not sign in WWE during his tenure.

Park didn't have to go back into the ring or even execute any moves himself. Professional motion-capture actors took care of the in-game action instead, while Park settled down for a full-body 3D scan from dozens of cameras to capture Abyss' terrifying looks perfectly.

He commented on being impressed with the high-tech processes involved in modern video game creation, lauding the realism and precision of the WWE 2K25 team.

The Return of Abyss' Iconic Entrance Music

One of the high points of the game is Abyss' classic entrance music, a spooky, instantly familiar theme that described his character for the majority of his TNA career. Fans have swamped social media with joy over its return, and Park concurs that the theme is critical to the complete Abyss experience.

Park said that this was a big thing, and hearing his theme would bring so many memories to the ring.

From Monster in the Ring to Producer Behind the Scenes

Since hanging up his boots in-ring in 2019, Joseph Park has worked behind the scenes as a WWE producer, assisting in structuring matches and developing talent.

While he's not wrestled in WWE, Park made a cameo on-screen for a short time in 2020, playing AJ Styles' offbeat statistician in a humorous angle leading into WWE SummerSlam, Wrestling Inc. wrote.

Though Park won't be reviving Abyss, however, fans can now unleash the force of destruction that his character represents in "WWE 2K25." It's a dream come true that even his fans did not expect.
