Capcom has just announced an arctic-themed expansion to Monster Hunter World entitled Iceborne, and here's everything we know about it so far:
Based on the gameplay reveal trailer shown above, the Iceborne expansion takes players far into the frozen north, where they will encounter never-before-seen monsters and creatures of varying ferocity and deadliness. Of course, we can expect many of these creatures to show off characteristics typical of monsters that dwell in frigid, icy regions - from cold-blooded, scaly reptile-like monsters to giant, woolly creatures, Iceborne has several new monsters for players to hunt and encounter. The new environment is also thoroughly frozen, like Ice Age tundras teeming with both predators and prey.
Monster Hunter World's Iceborne expansion doesn't have an official release date yet, but so far we know that it'll be launching in the Winter of 2019. With Winter extending all the way into 2020, we can expect Iceborne to release sometime in between December 2019 and March 2020, which is when meteorological winter officially ends.
What we do know, however, is the official pricing for the Iceborne expansion. Revealed alongside the trailer back during Sony's State of Play earlier this May, we know that the Iceborne expansion will retail for $39.99 for the Standard Edition, and $49.99 for the Deluxe Edition. The Deluxe Edition features some bonus in-game content such as cosmetic items, room decorations, and more.
