"Pokémon GO" may have hinted at what it has to offer trainers in the future, including the addition of new Mega Evolutions, the arrival of Paradox Pokemon, and other new experiences.
The speculation is based on the recently released concept art by Scopely's Niantic Labs when it announced the 9th Anniversary celebration of the game.
It has been nine years since fans were given this AR game that integrates the world of "Pokémon" into the real world, and it is still seeing a strong performance today, with massive support from its developers.
'Pokémon GO' Hints on Mega Evolutions, Paradox Pokémon
The latest post from The Pokémon GO Team on its official website revealed a new anniversary art which has been the center of speculations. The announcement itself shared many new features and experiences that have been made available to the game in the past year, leading to its 9th Anniversary celebration.
However, despite not mentioning what the Anniversary special has to offer, as they are to be revealed in other announcements, the concept artwork itself may be holding many various teasers on what is coming soon.
According to a report by ComicBook Gaming, the concept image features significant hints towards what Scopely and Niantic Labs have in store for trainers of the AR game.
New Mega Evolutions
Mega Evolutions have already been a part of "Pokémon GO" in previous updates and seasons, but in this concept artwork, it depicts Mega Metagross in the background, which is the first time it has been referenced in the game. According to ComicBook Gaming, Mega Metagross is the last of the current Mega Evolutions that is yet to be introduced.
That being said, there are still no official announcements from the team when Mega Metagross would arrive in the AR title, but its inclusion here could mean that it is in the works. It was speculated that "Pokémon GO" may be ramping up the Mega Evolutions as it is one of the inclusions in the upcoming game, "Pokémon Legends: Z-A."
Paradox Pokémon
On the other hand, another massive teaser from the anniversary image is the future arrival of Paradox Pokémon in "Pokémon GO." According to the report, the art features Paradox Pokémon inspired by the Ground-type elephant-looking creature, Donphan.
While not much was revealed regarding Paradox Pokémon for the AR game, it is speculated that it may be part of future updates coming to the mobile experience. Paradox Pokémon are known for being either ancient or future versions of an existing Pokémon first introduced in "Scarlet and Violet."
Other Teasers From 'Pokémon GO' Anniversary Art
According to the report, there is also one more teaser in the anniversary art, and that is the arrival of a new wearable technology for trainers to utilize in "Pokémon GO" as evidenced by a trainer near Mega Metagross. It shows a trainer receiving a "thumbs up" bubble notification from their watch, but it remains unknown what kind of feature this is.
Fans speculate that it may be hinting at a remote trading feature or a new interaction experience, but so far, there is no concrete information about it yet.
