Rainbow Six Siege's EU League 2020 just concluded its first playday and the results are here. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the matches have been held online. EU League 2020 had very tight games across the board, with some teams dominating and some teams resulting in a draw. The most exciting game of the first playday was between Team Empire and Virtus.Pro. These are two teams that are dominating the Russian Rainbow Six Siege scene and were also considered two of the titans from the previous season.

If you follow the EU scene closely, you likely know Team Empire was in a pretty terrible slump last season, and they barely won any games at all. This season is different with the addition of Dmitry "Always" Mitrahovich. Artur "ShepparD" Ipatov was also instrumental, carrying throughout the game as an incredible support. Team Empire dominated in Clubhouse against Virtus.Pro with a score of 7-1, which is an incredible feat considering the roster changes. This could be the season where the Russian players win it all again.

The most surprising matchup from yesterday was NaVi vs Team Secret. Team Secret had just climbed up from challenger league, and NaVi was one of the top teams from the previous pro league season. It was very disappointing to see NaVi draw against Team Secret even though they played on the newly reworked Oregon map. While the match result wasn’t that exciting, it was interesting to see new strategies and counter-strategies for the new map.

Another impressive match to watch was G2 vs Rogue, which took place on the Villa map. Rogue has been one of the most dominant teams in the pro league, and with the roster change, they seem to have taken a bad turn. Their match against G2 was a depressing one where they lost 2-7. On the other hand, the super team G2 has created is coming back into form and shows a lot of promise. You can watch all the streams on Twitch or YouTube.

So, what are your thoughts on the ongoing EU League 2020 for Rainbow Six Siege? Have you enjoyed the games and learned strategies from the pro players? Whatever your thoughts may be, let us know in the comments below.
