If you’re excited about some courtroom action, then now is your time to shine. The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is now available digitally on PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.

This game arrives in a collection that includes The Great Ace Attorney: Adventures and The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve, both of which were only offered in Japan. There’s also a digital bundle available that has the game and the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy.

The game is set in the late 19th century, during the Meiji Period of Japan and the Victorian era of Britain. It puts players in the role of the Japanese lawyer Ryunosuke Naruhodo, an ancestor of Phoenix Wright. Helping Ryunosuke is his legal aid Susato Mikotoba and the great detective Herlock Sholmes of London. Ryunosuke is tasked with solving the mystery behind 10 cases.

Gameplay

While The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles has the Courtroom and Investigation gameplay that Ace Attorney fans have grown to love, there are also new mechanics introduced.

One of these is called the “Dance of Deduction.” During cases, players are sure to notice that Herlock is rather overzealous when it comes to deductions. There is a need to rein Herlock’s enthusiasm to get the real facts of the case. A new mechanic as well called the “Summation Examinations” urges players to point out inconsistencies in the statements of jurors. Doing this allows the case to move forward.

Other Features

Another new feature is the Story Mode. Here, players can just sit back and watch the story unfold without the need to do any additional detective work. Players can also expect to hear some newly recorded English voices and the choice to experience the audio in either Japanese or English.

There’s also bonus content that can help fans learn more about the Ace Attorney lore. Extras that players can look forward to are the Art Gallery and Auditorium. Here, players can immerse themselves not only in the artwork but even in the music.

Players who buy The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles before August 31 receive the “From the Vaults” Early Purchase Bonus.
