Dorfromantik Full Release April 28

Build and expand.
Build and expand. Toukana Interactive

The peaceful building, strategy, and puzzle game Dorfromantik is leaving Early Access and fully launching on April 28. It was last year on this day when the game was first released on Steam Early Access. Since that time, a lot of updates have been released and there was even the addition of the creative mode.

The game was developed by Toukana Interactive whose story can be described as an indie fairytale. The studio was started by four students who banded together and developed the game while they were studying.

Game Mechanics and Features

The game mechanics of Dorfromantik are pretty straightforward. Players start with a stack of procedurally-generated tiles. One after the other, players draw the top tile of the stack, place it on one available slot, and rotate for the best fit. The groups and combinations should form the likes of forests, water bodies, and even villages. Players are rewarded points based on how well the tiles fit.

Throughout the game, players can encounter special objects on tiles that give them a quest. A windmill, for example, needs to border six-grain fields. Completing these quests allow players to get more tiles and continue the expansion. The game ends when the tile stack has been used up.

Features of the game include:

  • Building endless and beautiful landscapes.
  • Unique mix of strategy and puzzle mechanics.
  • Relaxing and calming gameplay.
  • Idyllic village scenery.
