A new update is now available for Dead by Daylight. Developer Behaviour Interactive has released Patch 5.3.1 that improved some perks and implemented bug fixes.

Improved Perks

Clairvoyance, a perk unique to Mikaela Reid but is also available to other characters starting Level 30, now has the Hatch aura built-in. For the uninitiated, this perk will let Survivors know about the existence of switches, generators, hooks, and chests. This time, it will also include the Hatch, but the aura will only activate once it has spawned.

Dead Hard is another perk that got improved in this patch. Now, it has hit validation, which means that the invulnerability it provides will no longer rely on the Killer’s client, but will now fall on the server instead.

Bug Fixes

Developers used a tentative fix for the issue where players can get stuck in an infinite loading screen. This may solve the problem, but for those who still experience it, do report the issue immediately.

Additional fixes have been implemented as well that solve problems related to some Halloween-themed items. For instance, the issue where Halloween pumpkins will not light up when a related challenge is active is now resolved.

Here are some of the notable fixes in Patch 5.3.1:

  • Fixed an issue that caused Halloween pumpkins not to rotate to face the player
  • Fixed an issue that caused Halloween hooks' auras not to be orange when viewed by survivors
  • Fixed an issue that caused the haste timer not to function properly when having haste both from the Halloween pumpkins and from the Clown's Afterpiece Antidote
  • Fixed an issue that may cause the game to crash when using the Boon: Circle of Healing perk
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Boon: Circle of Healing perk to give the Self-care prompt
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Clairvoyance perk to remain activated when used while being healed and holding an item
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Power Struggle perk not to reliably stun the killer since the same side pallet stuns were removed
  • Fixed an issue that caused users to be able to change a Daily Ritual multiple time by restarting the application after removing a Daily Ritual
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Cenobite to appear inside of the ground when teleporting to a survivor solving the Lament Configuration on the top level of the maze in the Pale Rose map
  • Fixed an issue that caused the survivors to be able to use the Dead Hard and Balanced Landing perks at the same time
  • Fixed an issue with various totem locations which caused the Killer to be unable to snuff them

Dead by Daylight Patch 5.3.1 is now available on all supported platforms.
