A new update for Dead by Daylight has been launched, and it features the new survivor, Mikaela Reid. She has been in the Public Test Build (PTB) for some time, but now she is ready to fight against the killers in the live servers. Nothing has really changed for her except that her voice level has been lowered a bit.

Patch 5.3.0 also features some general improvements. Item and Add-on descriptions, for example, have been rewritten. This change should make them easier to understand as those with vague descriptions have been replaced with numerical values.

Another huge change is that the hatch will only appear when there is one survivor left in the field. According to the developers, this should help prevent survivors from getting out prematurely.

Killer Improvements

The Trapper has received a lot of love in this patch. Its base trap carrying capacity has been doubled. The number of traps that can spawn on a given map is six, instead of the previous random value. Plus, new add-ons, such as the Lengthened Jaws and Tension Spring, among many others.

Survivor Changes

Some General Perks have their names changed. For instance, Babysitter is now called the Guardian. Second Wind is turned to Renewal, and Inner Strength is now Inner Healing.

For Perk balances, Guardian adds a 7% haste status for every rescued survivor. Built to Last has been reworked. Now, when you hide inside a locker and you have a depleted item with you, that item will get refilled to 99% of its charges. A new audio cue has been added as well to tell you that the charges have been replenished.
