If you've always wondered what it feels like to virtually kill bug, now's your chance. Starship Troopers - Terran Command is coming to the PC in 2020. This upcoming real time strategy game is based on the iconic 1997 Starship Troopers film.
In the game, players are dropped right in the middle of a human colony that's being overrun by Arachnids. Players need to survive and take the battle to bug territory. Players lead a group of elite soldiers with the goal of defeating the alien menace. In addition, units need to be positioned into strategic locations in order to cover important choke points, build defence emplacements, and get superior firepower by making use of elevation levels.

In a press statement, Slitherine Development Director Iain McNeil revealed that the game is a combination of classic real-time mechanics, tower defense, and tactical deployment of units. He went on to say that many strategy games nowadays are fast-paced and manage to successfully mix survival and unit management gameplay while having a captivating storytelling. McNeil added that "nothing is more suited to this type of gameplay than the Starship Troopers universe, where there is a continuous sense of danger and uncertainty."
McNeil went on to say that in creating the game, the goal was to get the essence of the original movie along with its universe. They managed to make this happen not only "by creating a coherent set of units and scenarios, but also by mimicking the language, visual elements, dialogues and the little details that made the film such an iconic, cult feature."
Starship Troopers - Terran Command is being developed by The Artistocrats, who has been working on the game for more than two years, with Slitherine serving as publisher.
