Nerfs all around. Titan Forge

A bonus update for SMITE is now live, which introduces nerfs to five gods. These gods have continued to be strong, so it’s not surprising that they’re taken down a notch. Some players are going to be happy about it, but others will surely dislike it.

Before we look at those changes, let’s check out the new content:

  • New God Skins
    • Cryptid Death Anubis
    • Cryonic Demon Ymir
    • Xeno Thrasher Fenrir
    • Winter's Mark Hou Yi
  • New Skin Voice Actors
    • Cryptid Death Anubis: Jacob Craner
    • Cryonic Demon Ymir: Jon Allen
    • Xeno Thrasher Fenrir: Kit Harrison
    • Winter’s Mark Hou Yi: Jordan Haro

Because of the Tank Build

During the Summer Masters SPL event, there was no question that Lancelot was the star of the show. Even after that, he continued to have a very high Ranked ban rate, which meant he was a top priority for many teams in the current meta. Lancelot has also been performing well in the jungle and solo. As punishment for those who go for a tank build, he receives these nerfs:

  • Piercing Thrust
    • Decreased Base Damage from 50/90/130/170/210 to 40/80/120/160/200.
  • Skilled Strikes
    • Decreased Shield Damage from 50/80/110/140/170 to 40/70/100/130/160.
    • Decreased Lance Damage from 70/110/150/190/230 to 60/100/140/180/220.

Be in Love

Another god that has been putting up huge numbers, especially at LAN, is Cupid. As expected, his lane clear buff is nerfed to bring down the pressure he creates. His ultimate is being nerfed as well. Here are the changes:

  • Heart Bomb
    • Decreased Damage done to Minions from 60% to 55% on both the initial hit and explosion.
  • Field of Love
    • Decreased Base Damage from 220/300/380/460/540 to 200/280/360/440/520.

Another Nerf

Despite a nerf to her ultimate early this year, Nemesis continued to be a top jungler, particularly her pace in the jungle. Meanwhile, Divine Judgment is still strong against gods with a higher base HP. The nerfs not only lower her overall damage output but also bring her down closer to the rest of the class. Changes are:

  • Slice and Dice
    • Increased Cooldown from 11 to 12 seconds.
  • Divine Judgment
    • Decreased Damage from 20/22.5/25/27.5/30% to 15/17.5/20/22.5/25% of current HP.

Keeping Her in Check

Eset continues to be an absolute powerhouse in the pro league of Season 9. That means these nerfs will keep her in check:

  • Dispel Magic
    • Decreased shield health from 50/105/160/215/270 to 50/100/150/200/250.
    • Decreased the bonus shield amount per enemy hit from 40/80% to 30/60%.
  • Circle of Protection
    • Decreased Max Charge Damage and Healing from 2.5/2.75/3/3.25/3.5x to 2/2.25/2.5/2.75/3x.

Putting the Bully in Place

Ah Muzen Cab has long been called the Bane of the Midlane. Indeed, he’s been bullying anyone in the lane with his consistent high damage. He is being nerfed with:

  • Swarm
    • Decreased Base Damage from 60/110/160/210/260 to 60/105/150/195/240.
    • Decreased Physical Power Scaling from 75% to 70%.
  • Stinger
    • Decreased Physical Power Scaling from 100% to 90%.
