Death Stranding
When Death Stranding launched, it was memed as a "walking simulator." However, with enough play time, one can easily fall into this strange story from Hideo Kojima. The game does an amazing job of showcasing the PS4's potential with stunning graphics. Death Stranding's story revolves around Sam Porter Bridges, who is a post-apocalyptic delivery man. Sam encounters strange phenomenons including spirits of the dead, Breached Things, and much more while conducting his daily job. Some people may not like the genre, but it's a game that is nothing like you have played before.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
Call of Duty as a franchise had a tough time with past releases, but Modern Warfare changed the entire game. Upon launch, Modern Warfare became one of the most played games and Infinity Ward gave long-waiting COD fans what they have been asking for. The game ditched jetpacks and double-jumps and gave us the true "boots-on-the-ground" Call of Duty that defined the franchise.
Control
Control puts you in shoes of Jessie Faden, the newest director of the Federal Bureau of Control. Jessie learns that the FBC is researching ways to control paranormal activities. In her pursuit to accomplish the task, Jessie encounters a paranormal force known as the Hiss, and all Hell breaks loose. Control's story is something that will provoke thoughts and sometimes leave you confused.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
Developed by the famous studio behind the Soulsborne games, FromSoftware has delivered an amazing sword-fighting experience to the generation that is been blown up with "pew-pew" guns. Sekiro looks gorgeous from the outside, but the game itself is designed to kill you multiple times until you finally learn from your mistakes and take down the toughest bosses you encounter. Just like any FromSoftware game, Sekiro is both brutally punishing and exceptionally rewarding.
The Outer Worlds
The Outer Worlds is basically Fallout: New Vegas in Space, and what more do you really need than that to be instantly sold? The open-world action-RPG is crafted exceptionally well, giving players plenty of ways to tackle challenges and come out with a variety of quest endings. The game is set in the frontier space, where your character awakens from hibernation and has to carve his or her path through this bizarre galaxy.
Resident Evil 2 Remake
Resident Evil 2 was a classic horror game from Capcom. Gamers have cherished those memories for most of their childhoods. It was a surprise when Capcom announced that RE2 was getting a remake and the RE community couldn't be happier. The game was delivered in exceptional quality with stunning new graphical fidelity and zombie mechanics, while keeping the story and scares intact.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a single-player, story-driven game that puts you in the shoes of the last Jedi alive, Cal Kestis. The young Jedi soon learns that the Empire is looking for any remaining Jedi alive to kill them. Cal is now bestowed with a responsibility to evade the Empire and rebuild the Jedi Order. The game is a fun experience, but at the same time can be very challenging with its intense lightsaber combat.
Borderlands 3
If you have played Borderlands 1 and 2, Borderlands 3 will feel very similar. It is because Borderlands 3 does not introduce anything remakably new to the game, except for smoother gameplay and higher visual fidelity. That said, is more of Borderlands a bad thing? No way. The whole game can be played solo, but is best enjoyed when played with friends.
