The studio is set to bring a new generation of Pokemon and it is starting to tease players already. Niantic

Niantic gave the Pokémon Go community something to look forward to after it posted a silhouette of Pokémon on the game’s official Twitter page. Interestingly, the Pokémon is said to be “very intelligent and calm and can photosynthesize by bathing its tail in sunlight.”

The description itself is enough to suggest that the Pokémon in question is none other than Snivy. The silhouetted Pokémon, in case you did not know, is the very first pocket monster in the Unova generation. The post the studio made is clearly an acknowledgement of the Pokémon Gen 5 starters, all of which are expected to arrive in the game sooner or later.

When evolved, Snivy becomes Serperior, which is a mono Grass-type Pokémon. This one is definitely going to be a useful Pokémon for trainers who want to increase their odds of winning in PvP. Based on the current rate of Community Days, it is safe to assume that it will be brought to life come March 2020 Community Day.

The other reference the Pokémon Go community has to the Gen 5 starters thus far was the quick Ultra Bonus promotional video posted by the Japanese Twitter account of the game. In addition to that, there is also the original Pokémon Go Fest 2019 Chicago promotional poster. While none of these have been officially announced by Niantic just yet, players should be excited. It seems the developers have a lot of exciting stuff in store.

If you have been a fan of Pokémon Go for quite some time now, then you can agree that the tease of Snivy is not entirely new. That is because Niantic has already done such a move in the past. As a matter of fact, all previous generations have been introduced with their respective grass-type starter Pokémon as well. So, there is a strong indication that fans might see the same teases for Oshawott and Tepig.

We are just a few days away from the official arrival of some Unova Pokémon. Of course, as expected from Niantic, the community will most likely get a series of teases of other pocket monsters before the big introduction.
