A Remastered Edition of the classic Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is set to launch this coming August. For those not familiar with this game, it has players take on the role of adventures while offering a single-player campaign as well as a multiplayer mode. With so many new games being released, it’s going to be difficult to know if this game is for you or not.

To help make this decision, Crystal Chronicle Remastered is releasing a Lite version to see whether you really want the game or not. What this does is to give you a chance to play through a certain portion of the game while also being able to try out the different enhancements. This version is going to be free and will launch at the same time as the full version on August 27. That means it’s going to be available for the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch. A mobile version is being developed as well, though there’s no word yet on its status.

So what else do you need to know about the Lite edition? Well, a maximum of four players can form a caravan and play through three dungeons. While this is offered for free, it should be noted that for both the Switch and PS4, players need to have active subscriptions in order to play online.

However, like the full version, the Lite edition also allows for crossplay. This means that Switch players can play with PS4 users. When the mobile version is officially released, PS4 and Switch players can also team up with them.

Now here’s a little something that may interest you. Let’s say you know someone that owns the full version of the game. That same individual can invite three friends that own the Lite version. Here’s the kicker, the group is not limited to playing through three dungeons, but can adventure through as many as 13 massive dungeons.

Now suppose one of those who has the Lite edition want to continue playing offline? All that needs to be done is upgrade to the complete game to play away. This is because saved progress can be transferred to the full game.

So what do you think? Are you excited as we are to try this one out?
