Hogwarts Legacy was released in February 2023 for the PC, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series X/S. Versions for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One came out in May 2023. Finally, it was ported to the Nintendo Switch just last week.
Aside from the Standard Edition, players have the option to get the Deluxe Edition which also comes with the Dark Arts Pack that contains the Thestral Mount, Dark Arts Cosmetic Set, and the Dark Arts Battle Arena. There is also the digital Deluxe Edition exclusive of the Dark Arts Garrison Hat. PlayStation players also get exclusive content with the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop Quest.
Hogwarts Legacy features an original story that's set in the Harry Potter universe. The game has players take on the role of a new fifth year student joining Hogwarts. Like with most students joining Hogwarts, they get to be sorted into one of the four houses and then attend classes. Even before their adventure, players get to customize the appearance of their character.
In the game, players are tasked with completing various challenges where they get to earn experience and be able to level up their abilities. Aside from attending classes, they also get to explore a fully realized Hogwarts Castle where they can discover dungeons, secret passageways, and challenging puzzles.
Since the game offers an open-world experience, players not only get to explore Hogwarts Castle but also the surrounding areas where they can go into familiar locations in the Wizarding World like the Forbidden Forest and Hogsmeade.
Hogwarts Legacy features an action-packed immersive magic with players being able to fly broomsticks and tame magical beasts. They also get to fight against various enemies that include spiders, trolls, and of course, dark wizards. As they go on this adventure, they'll learn that the world is actually filled with a lot of dangers that's connected to the long-forgotten past of the Wizarding World.
