Final Fantasy 14: Shadowbringers released its latest update which includes a new quest series, among other new additions. Patch 5.25 also offers a new difficulty trial along with crafter and gatherer content.

Let’s start with the new quest series titled Save the Queen. Written by Yasumi Matsuno, the story focuses on the homeland of the Hrothgar, which is Bozja. Long controlled by Garlean rulers, the Empire has since fallen into disarray with the people of Doma and Ala Mhigo rising up to challenge the current rule. While Bozjans want to join the rebellion, they lack the means to do so. It appears that they need to unite and rally under a weapon of legend.

The actual quest is titled Save the Queen: Blades of Gunnhildr. Players need to complete around five missions in order to finish the quest. The first of these is Hail to the Queen, where players need to be at Disciple of War or Magic level 80 and complete not only the main Shadowbringers quest, but also The City of Lost Angels sidequest.

Arriving with Patch 5.25 as well is a new Skysteel Tool Quest. With this, Disciples of the Land and Hand should be able to upgrade their Skysteel Tools into stronger and more powerful versions. That’s not all as this questline is going to get even more updates in future patches.

There’s also going to be a new “Extreme” Difficulty Trial. Available through the Raid Finder, this one needs a party size of at least eight players. Each player has to be at least Disciple of War or Magic level 80 and have average item at least level 470. If you’re wondering what the trial is all about, it looks like you’re going to have to discover that yourself as no other information was revealed.

This being a patch, there are also some fixed issues that include:

  • An issue wherein an NPC would erroneously appear in the main scenario quest "Echoes of a Fallen Star" under certain conditions.
  • An issue in the dungeon Anamnesis Anyder wherein the enemy Anyder diviner did not correctly resist certain status ailments.
  • An issue in the Diadem instance wherein certain gathering points were inaccessible.
  • An issue wherein the graphics of certain gear did not display properly.
