Fallout 76 "Once in a Blue Moon" Update is Here

See what's in store for you. Bethesda

The Blue Ridge Caravan is back in Appalachia and that means the Once in a Blue Moon update is now live in Fallout 76. Join Public Events, take on side quests, and meet two new Cryptids.

Let's start with the Public Events focused on Vinny Costa, head of operations for the Blue Ridge Caravan Company. He has become impatient with the caravan members believing that they're not pulling their own weight and contributing enough. Because of this, players need to work with the caravan members to make sure that they get up to speed. In return, they get some of those sweet Blue Ridge Caravan-themed items as a reward.

Beasts of Burden

After a trade deal goes wrong, Luca Costa finds himself in need of help. A group of local Cultists has stolen his Brahmin and cargo of makeshift explosives; his Uncle Vinny will not be happy if he catches wind of it. The problem is, he's too injured to get the supplies himself!

To help Luca, players need to infiltrate the den of the Cultists, lay down explosives, and of course, bring back the Brahmnin. It's important to remember that the local wildlife must not be disturbed. The task may seem difficult, but Luca is there to guide players through a two-way radio.

Safe and Sound

The caravan has managed to renovate the Middle Mountain Cabins and make it their Brahmin pitstop. The problem is that they're having a hard time keeping the local critters away because the Repeller Speaker system got damaged. To make sure everything is smooth, players need to clear out the creatures and defend the Repeller. In return, they receive a reward from the Blue Ridge Caravan.

Daily Quests

As mentioned earlier, Vinny isn't happy with how his employees have been performing. The good news is that he's more than willing to throw some caps at those who want to solve the problem. Players can learn more about what's bugging Vinny through a series of one-off Daily Quests and along the way collect some truly unique rewards. Compared to other Dailies, players can only complete this series of seven quests once.

New Cryptids

Good news for all cryptozoologists out there! The new Public Events introduced two Cryptids based on real West Virginian folklore. They are:

  • Blue Devil
    • Based on the real-life West Virginian Cryptid, this massive dog-like creature is sure to test your wits.
    • Its terrifying howl can send your character into a panicked mad dash for the Vault.
  • Ogua
    • Known as the Monongahela River Monster in real life, this reclusive creature retreats into its shell to shield itself from incoming damage.
