Fahrenheit is launching a 15th Anniversary Edition on January 26. This special boxed edition is exclusive to PlayStation 4.
In addition to the game, this edition comes with a specifically created case and sleeve. It also offers a sticker set and a high-quality printed artbook. There’s even a thank-you letter written by the team at Quantic Dream. The boxed edition is sold at 29.99 euros or around $37.
A Supernatural Force
Fahrenheit is a story-driven interactive drama that allows either a first-person or third-person perspective. The game is set in New York City where a series of brutal slaying has the same pattern. That is, ordinary people, being possessed by what appears to be a supernatural force and getting them to commit murder.
The main story itself focuses on Lucas Kane, one of those who have been possessed by such forces, and has been seen fleeing the scene of a murder, of which Lucas has no memory. Finding the truth though won’t be easy since he’s being pursued by police detectives Carla Valenti and Tyler Miles.
A Look Back
Released in 2005, the launch of the boxed edition is an excellent way to rediscover one of the highly acclaimed titles of developer Quantic Dream. Established more than two decades ago, the studio is known for its use of cutting-edge motion capture technology to come up with story-driven, interactive dramas.
Upon release, Fahrenheit obtained mainly favorable reviews. Most critics cited the gameplay and the narrative that the game offered. It was also named the best adventure game of 2005 by different gaming magazines. A remastered version of Fahrenheit was released for the PC in 2015 and PlayStation 4 in 2016. Android and iOS also received a mobile version of the game.
Developer Quantic Dream may be familiar to some as they are the same studio that developed Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human .
