Quantic Dream's Detroit: Become Human has hit a new sales milestone. The news comes just a month after the game's release on Steam. Quantic Dream recently announced that Detroit: Become Human has sold over five million copies, combining PS4, Steam, and Epic Games Store sales.

Detroit was originally released on the PC as an Epic Games Store exclusive, but this exclusivity tenure was quite short. The Steam release marked the third platform for the game's availability. Moreover, with the game's release on Steam, it also received a Community Play feature, allowing Twitch streamers and viewers to make decisions collaboratively.

Detroit: Become Human originally launched as a PS4 exclusive, selling over two million copies in less than a year. According to Quantic Dream, Detroit: Become Human is the company's fastest-selling game to date.

In a press release, Quantic Dream's co-CEO Guillaume de Fondaumière stated, "Launching Detroit: Become Human on Steam has been a delightful experience for us. The response we’re seeing has been incredibly positive, in particular in Asian markets. We are also thrilled by the response garnered by the concomitant release of our Community Play extension for streamers and viewers on Twitch, which elevated a fundamentally single-player game into a social experience." The Twitch extension for Detroit: Become Human works via a voting system, where viewers can vote for their choices. This extension was used by more than 500 Twitch streamers, gathering a total of over 1.5 million votes. That's pretty impressive.

In February, Quantic Dream announced that the studio is now fully independent. This independence will allow the company to publish its current and future creations on multiple platforms. Since the announcement, we have seen the studio's recent releases, including Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human make their way to the PC as well.

Quantic Dream hasn't announced a new project since the release of Detroit: Become Human on the PS4.

Detroit: Become Human is available on PC and PS4.
