In Bungie’s weekly Destiny 2 post, the developers will re-implement Trials Labs: Capture Zone this weekend, albeit with a few adjustments.

The Return

For those who do not know, the Trials Labs: Capture Zone was the first experimental feature that devs implemented, and they know that there is still a lot to work on.

This time, the game mode still follows the usual elimination format with a few changes. First is that fireteams will be fighting against each other on the Endless Vale map. This is deemed as a strong map by the devs.

Second is instead of using the previous system, where rotating through different points provides a bigger advantage to just one team, developers opted for three neutral zones. These are the Temple, the Shrine, and the middle portion of the map.

Lastly, and probably a major change in practice, all players will no longer get Super energy when capturing a zone. This applies before or after the round ends.

To entice more players to test this week’s Trials Labs, a 2x Trials Rank booster is enabled all weekend. In addition, the card-based matchmaking system will be used, and the Flawless Pool will be active on Sunday morning, at 1 p.m. EST.

Weapons Update

Chris Proctor, Design Lead for Destiny 2, has shared some details about the upcoming changes to weapons, which will be implemented on December 7.

Slug Shotguns have been quite effective in PvE, so developers reduced its effectiveness to 20% from 30%. To make pellet shotguns more viable, they will do 10% more PvE bonus damage.

The Bows have received a slight increase in damage in Season 11. Because it’s been a while since it was buffed, it will get another 10% increased damage against rank-and-file enemies.

For Exotics, the Vex Mythoclast may have been quite overpowered than the devs had hoped. That is why it will receive some nerfs. Its Aim Assist stat will be reduced by 25, and its Linear Fusion Rifle mode Aim Assist Cone scalar will be reduced to 1.05. Additionally, the Overcharge will require three eliminations instead of just two.

The Lorentz Driver will also have a pretty huge nerf as its ability to regenerate energy when picking up telemetry is removed.
