Destiny 2 TWAB: Bungie Reverts Flawless Pool Changes, New Amazon Prime Rewards

Bungie, the company behind Destiny 2, started launching the experimental Trials Labs in recent weeks. This is to help the developers find out what new features work and what needs to be scrapped.

Last week, it seems that a lot of players were not happy with the changes made to the Flawless Pool in Trials of Osiris. Basically, what they did was implement a new system where they tried to match players with those who have roughly the same wins.

While the changes made were initially perceived good, matchmaking times took longer than what the devs had hoped.

Trials Labs Report

According to the developers, the average time it took for a player to find a match was up by 10 seconds compared to three weeks ago. If the person was consistently in the win column, their matchmaking time could easily be anywhere between two to five minutes.

Furthermore, the number of games played was down by about 33%, though the Blowout rate, or the rate that tallies one-sided wins, increased slightly to 28%.

It is also worth noting that the number of people who play solo has gone up a little bit, while those who play with complete fireteams dropped by a third.

What’s even more surprising is that more skilled players have played significantly less than in previous weeks, which suggests that they are likely not a fan of the Flawless Pool changes implemented last week.

Because of the data from last week, and from the feedback gathered from the game’s various social media channels, the devs opted to revert the changes back to card-based matchmaking next week. They may implement an improved Flawless Pool in the near future.

Anyway, the Trials of Osiris will not be available this week. But Lord Saladin and the Iron Banner event are available this weekend until the game’s next reset on Tuesday, November 9.
