‘The Defenders’: Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Daredevil -- Who Would Win A Fight?

The Defenders trailer revealed how Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Daredevil and Iron Fist meet each other and teased fans with a hallway fight scene. The vibe between the team is much lighter than we’ve experienced in each hero’s individual shows and when Iron Fist tested out what a punch to Luke Cage’s face could do, it prompted the question: who would win in a fight between The Defenders?

First To Die: Daredevil

Daredevil, we love you. You’ve brought us the best fight scenes yet, but there’s no way you're beating a bulletproof man, no matter how epic your dark hallway fight scenes are. You may be able to keep JJ at bay by using your enhanced senses to detect every move. You may be able to outsmart Iron Fist, but ultimately, you can only take so much beating and do so much avoiding. We’ve watched you nearly die too many times and appreciate how far you’ll go to save New York, but Luke will kick your ass. He doesn’t play and your ninja moves won’t phase him.

Iron Fist Would Make It To The End

Iron Fist has the tools to win a 4-way brawl, but dude has not shown us that he’s smart, whatsoever. Even though he’s got an indestructible Iron Fist and is (supposedly) a martial arts master, he has no idea how to use it. The hero who is most on his level as far as fighting ability is Daredevil, but Matt is a brilliant tactician. If Danny can manipulate his chi and go super saiyan, he’d win against every other hero here. Still, punching Luke Cage could knock him out, but it won’t necessarily keep him down. You’d have to chop off his head or something. Luke felt some impact when Danny punched him in the new trailer, but bulletproof man didn’t seem very hurt. Danny’s got speed and agility and mystical prowess going for him, and if he could use it at 110 percent, he could easily figure out a way to win this fight with his Iron Fist. But on the average day, probably not.

Jessica Jones Would Win, If She Could Fly

Jessica Jones and Daredevil are a very even match, but if JJ could fly like she does in the comics, she’d trump every other hero in New York. What’s great about Jessica Jones is she’s powered, yet grounded and well-rounded. Bad news is, that’s her weakness too. She doesn’t really have any formal training. She kind of just flails around and hits stuff and takes as much of a beating as she can handle. However, if she could fly, every one of her skillsets would be enhanced. Combined with the fact that she’s probably stronger, Jessica would have an angle to defeat the most well-rounded hero if she could fly: Luke Cage.

Winner: Luke Cage

This dude is literally bulletproof and impenetrable… that’s an issue. Like, wtf can stop him? Sure those lousy special bullets we saw his brother use against him in the series, but that would involve a Defender bringing those to the fight. Jessica Jones gave Luke a concussion with a shotgun to the head, but if we are going off pure natural ability, Luke wins, hands down. You saw those prison brawls, right? Danny would need to take a few classes from Daredevil to learn Luke’s weak points and slam him with the Iron Fist. But Unless Wolverine and his claws are around, Luke is not going down on the average day.

It looks like Luke Cage and Iron Fist are curious to see who is stronger, too.

This is far from the first time this has been up for debate. Figuring out which hero is most powerful has been on everyone’s mind since the first Defenders teaser debuted. The official Twitter accounts of each Marvel hero even got involved.
