"Red Dead Redemption 2's" modding community has done it again and given us pure comedy gold. One player created a mod that turns young Jack Marston into a throwable weapon, allowing Arthur Morgan a new and hilariously absurd method of dispatching enemies.
With ragdoll physics thrown in, the "Tomajack" mod does away with the standard Tomahawk and makes RDR2's gritty world go topsy-turvy.
Red Dead Redemption 2's Developing Modding Community
Whereas "RDR2" lacks the enormous mod repository found in games like "Skyrim," its modding community is dedicated and resourceful. Modders do not fail to deliver content that varies from graphical enhancements and gameplay reworks to light-hearted additions for the sake of humor. GameRant wrote that the "Jack Marston weapon" mod is an example of the latter.
How the 'Tomajack' Mod Operates
Posted on Reddit by YouTuber Blurbs, the mod replaces the Tomahawk with Jack Marston, allowing Arthur to outfit him in the throwable slot.
Rather than adhering to surfaces as the standard weapon does, Jack realistically tumbles due to ragdoll physics, slamming into outlaws, wild animals, and anything unfortunate enough to stand in his way.
Seeing Arthur toss young Jack at a gigantic bear is both jarring and amusing, making the mod a quick fan favorite.
The Modder Behind the Madness
Blurbs is renowned within the modding scene for producing zany, community-generated content.
His YouTube and Twitch channels flourish on requests from viewers, with his previous work ranging from a "Skyrim" mod that allows his chat to voice NPCs via text-to-speech to one of his most popular "RDR2" projects.
This is when all of the NPCs sit perpetually drunk, with their narrative cutscenes becoming frantic comedy sketches. His Jack Marston mod is merely the latest addition to his extensive list of innovative, weird projects.
More Than Just One Hilarious Mod
The "Tomajack" is not the only crazy concept Blurbs has made a reality. In his most recent video, he demonstrated a handful of mods simultaneously, ranging from kickflipping horses and exploding dead bodies to NPCs abducting Arthur. He even did a full "RDR2" playthrough with these ridiculous mods activated, demonstrating just how much creativity can stretch Rockstar's open world.
With Rockstar Games moving its attention to "Grand Theft Auto 6," the fate of any potential "Red Dead Redemption 3" is still uncertain. Yet, the commitment of modders keeps "RDR2" current and engaging years on from its original launch.
