"Marvel's Spider-Man" has a new, fresh experience awaiting players as a new mod unlocks a multiplayer co-op setup for everyone to enjoy as long as they have a copy of the game on PC.

The recent mod has blown up online as many fans are joining the experience and loving the multiplayer setup, which was not originally available on the version released by Insomniac Games.

'Marvel's Spider-Man' New Multiplayer Co-Op Mod

Different "Spider-Man" games in the past have given players a chance to go on multiplayer experiences with some offering co-op missions to play. Insomniac Games, however, has focused on a single-player story setup in its action RPGs.

That is about to change thanks to a new mod developed by hbgda which they uploaded via their Patreon page.

Through the mod, "Marvel's Spider-Man" on PC can be transformed into a multiplayer co-op game where players can join together and go around the city in their favorite Spider-Man skins or versions in-game.

According to players who have downloaded the mod and shared its gameplay online, the experience is available on the "Marvel's Spider-Man" remastered version on PC.

According to ComicBook Gaming, the mod allows multiple players to join in single sessions and suit up in different varieties of the Spider-Man costume. That being said, the mod's features are currently limited as it can only bring players to come together as Spider-Man in free roam, hideouts, and combat and stealth challenges.

The game's main campaign and side quests were not designed to be played in co-op despite the mod, but some players have tried to play these together and were successful in doing so. However, they experienced crashes and bugs along the way.

Fans Are Loving 'Marvel's Spider-Man' Multiplayer

Fans are ecstatic with the mod developed by hbgda, and those who have tried it have expressed their gratitude fas many have requested this over the years. That being said, this multiplayer mod is only accessible by paying $10 for the "Web-Head tier," but ComicBook Gaming reported that this may be made free to access in the future.

A previous report revealed that Insomniac Games had once worked on developing a "Marvel's Spider-Man" game that features a multiplayer experience for players to enjoy. However, the report also revealed that it was canceled by Insomniac, with the studio focusing its efforts on its proven and tested single-player story campaigns.

For now, this multiplayer mod is the closest fans will get to a "Marvel's Spider-Man" game that has a co-op option.
