Season 7 Episode 1 of The Crew 2 launches today and kicks off a massive underground race. Dubbed as "Into the Storm," there are five total events and those able to complete them earn the Mitsubishi 300 GT VR-R No Rules Edition.
Of course, a new season means a new Motorpass. With Into the Storm, there are 50 new tiers for both free and premium tracks that reward high-performance vehicles like:
- McLaren P1 Gold Line Edition (Hypercar).
- Pontiac Firebird T/A Golden Wings Edition (Street Race).
- Mitsubishi FTO GP Version R Nebula Edition (Street Race).
- Porsche 918 Spyder - Silvery Edition (Hypercar).
The Motorpass also comes with cosmetic items and currency packs. Beginning November 16, players can now buy additional vehicles from the in-game store like the Pontiac Firebird T/A 1077 (Street Race) and the Mitsubishi FTO GP Version R (Street Race).
Vanity Items
For the new season, players can look forward to 86 new vanity items, with 58 of those items available in the Motorpass. These new items are released throughout the season in the shop, as LIVE Summit rewards, or in the Motorpass. The new items are:
- 10 Horns
- 13 Nitros
- 2 Suits
- 3 Outfit Parts
- 8 Rooftops
- 8 Smokes
- 18 Tires
- 17 Underglows
- 7 Window tints
There are also new types of vanity tires to be introduced, which have different visuals between the front wheels and the rear ones.
QoL Improvements
Season 7 also introduces some interesting quality-of-life improvements to the game. One of these is the Performance Mode that allows PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X players to play at a higher frame rate.
Specifically, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X can now run the game at a target of 60 FPS and up to 1440p resolution. In addition, Xbox Series S players can also enjoy the game at a target 60 FPS and up to 1080p resolution.
Another improved feature is the Global Map Icons, having the following changes:
- Event Icons have been updated with higher quality versions.
- Vehicle categories are now more easily identifiable.
- Newly-unlocked-events now feature a "New" indicator.
- Headquarters Icons now display the vehicle category they cover.
