For some time now, fans have known that Apex Legends will be releasing on Steam and Nintendo Switch. Earlier today, Respawn Entertainment surprised and disappointed fans by announcing that the Steam version of Apex Legends will become available on November 4, starting with Season 7. Unfortunately, the developer also confirmed that the Nintendo Switch version has been delayed into next year.

The news comes directly from the game's director Chad Grenier, who also stated that Apex Legends will support cross-play across all platforms. Those who want to jump from Origin to Steam on PC will also be able to bring over all their unlockables and cosmetics.

Sharing details on the Switch port of the game, Grenier said that the team doesn't want to rush things out, and this is why Respawn needs additional time to deliver an excellent Switch port of Apex Legends.

However, Grenier has confirmed that the Switch port will support all features, including all seasonal content and cross-play support.

Meanwhile, fans are currently enjoying the Halloween-themed limited-time event Shadow Royale. The event will conclude on November 4, the same day when Season 7 kicks off. With the new season approaching close, dataminers have also begun to discover potential new details on the upcoming season. Moreover, Respawn itself is currently teasing the upcoming Legend Horizon via some cryptic videos on the Firing Range. Horizon is asking players to complete several quests to uncover secrets.

Recently, prominent dataminer Shrugtal also shared a new image on Twitter, which shows two Apex dummies in a seated position. Shrugtal claims that the datamined files indicate that Apex Legends may also get vehicles in Season 7. The dataminer also supported his claim by referring to the mysterious vehicle banners that were introduced to the game in Season 6.

Naturally, fans are having mixed reactions to the news, with some really excited for it and others criticizing Respawn's decision to copy other BR games like Call of Duty: Warzone and Fortnite.

Apex Legends is free-to-play on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The game is currently in development for the Nintendo Switch.
