The Evolution Collection Event for Apex Legends has arrived. This event gives us a look into what our Legends could be if they had both time and technology on their side. Expect to see event-limited cosmetics for the likes of Wraith, Octane, Pathfinder, Fuse, Bangalore, Rampart, and Lifeline.

For this event, Rampart is pulling out the big guns and bringing her custom shop, the giant tank Big Maude. It’s located somewhere near Lava City, which is big enough to accommodate teams fighting over the shop.

Once inside the shop, players can buy Rampart’s Custom Modded Paintball Weapons from the new Vend-it Machines using collected materials. The guns may be a bit expensive, but they are fully kitted at different tiers.

Rampart is also slipping into the Arenas and offering players the chance to get modded weapons at special discounts. Take note that these weapons replace the base version, so this means the lower-tier versions of a weapon won’t be available.

Rampart is also introducing players to her business side with Rampart’s Arenas Extravaganza. By the way, Rampart is getting a new Heirloom pipe wrench called the “Problem Solver,” which comes with a gumball dispenser.

Balance Changes

The new event arrives in the game with a new update that introduces some balancing changes.

Let’s start with Rampart and the fact that Sheila is now mobile. This means Rampart can now run even when Sheila is out. She can even shoot while walking. As if that’s not enough, the spin-up is longer and Shelia gets one magazine. According to the development team, Rampart has been played as a defensive Legend. However, the team wanted her capable of pushing with the team.

Hemlok also had balance changes which include the hipfire spread being reduced and the reset being slightly faster. The team revealed that the weapon’s effectiveness was lowered a few seasons back and as a result, there has been a decline in its use. This change should make the weapon feel more consistent in close quarters without impacting its medium-range excellence.
