Apex Legends: New Patch Finally Nerfs Seer

Developer Respawn Entertainment has released a hotfix that nerfed Seer’s abilities. The update also added bug fixes, including the fix where players get stuck in the “holding a grenade” pose even though they do not have grenades in their inventory.

Seer Nerf

Seer is a new agent introduced in Season 10 Emergence. That said, ever since his release, the legend seems to be a popular pick in most matches simply because of how overpowered his abilities are.

His Focus of Attention tactical ability, for instance, not only interrupts enemy abilities but can also reveal enemies and go through walls unhindered.

The update has nerfed this ability by increasing its detonation delay to 1.6 seconds, as well as removing the damage and screen-blinding flash that the microdrones can do before.

That said, Focus of Attention can still disrupt channeled actions like reviving teammates and it still applies a 1.25-second silence, which prevents enemy Legends from using their abilities.

Seer’s ultimate and passive abilities have also been nerfed. His Heart Seeker passive has its wait time increased between sensor spikes for full targets to 1.75 seconds. It also now has a reduced field of view and the center circle ellipses are completely removed.

The removal of the circle ellipses is a major blow to those who rely on it as it can help detect enemy distance and direction.

For Exhibit, the ability’s cooldown is increased to 120 seconds and its audio is lowered as well.

Patch Notes

PASSIVE (Heart Seeker)
  • Increased wait time between sensor spikes for full HP targets from 1.25 seconds to 1.75 seconds
  • Removed center circle ellipses
  • Reduced range beyond 75 meters (blue spikes)
  • Reduced field of view
TACTICAL (Focus of Attention)
  • Increased detonation delay from 1.4 seconds to 1.6 seconds
  • Players hit are no longer damaged or flashed. Screen shake from being hit is also reduced
  • Move slow added while holding tactical
  • Lowered volume on audio
  • Fixed tactical FX being visible in firing range when it’s not supposed to be
ULTIMATE (Exhibit)
  • Increase cooldown from 90 seconds to 120 seconds
  • Lowered volume on audio
MISCELLANEOUS
  • Fixed several errors related to Seer
  • Adjusted volume of voice lines that play when Seer is chosen
OTHER FIXES
  • Fixed a problem caused by Climatizer FX (“No existing effect for handle” error)
  • Fixed an issue with challenges (“Array index -1 is out of range”)
  • Fixed most instances of Legends “holding a grenade” when they have none in their inventory (Wattson still suffers from this in some rare cases)
  • Fixed an error with using multiple grenades on explosive holds
  • Switch: Fixed Holospray display

Another small update was released that temporarily disables Prowler in Arenas due to crashing issues. In addition, it fixed a bug that prevented some stats from being properly tracked.
