A game set in the American West combined with a supernatural theme is not new. However, if you add in a Ghost Train to the mix, then Hard West 2 is indeed bringing something interesting to the table. This turn-based tactics game is now available on Steam for $29.99, but right now, it's being offered at 10% off until August 11.
In the game, players take on the role of one Gin Carter, an outlaw who has a reputation for being dangerous as the frontier itself. On the hunt for the big score, he hears about the legendary Ghost Train and assembles a posse of outlaws. However, after boarding the train, Carter realizes why it's been named as such and now has to fight for his life.
Post-Launch Updates
With the game now released, the development team revealed that they'll be releasing the first patch sometime this month mainly to address the issue on PCs with RAM of 8 GB or less. In particular, some of the fixes and improvements players can expect include:
- Optimization
- Fixed memory leaks and increasing loading times based on play session length.
- Crashes
- Fixed the most common crashes, exceptions, and minimizations to the taskbar.
- Localization
- Minor issues fixed.
- Voice Over
- Minor updates in the last mission.
- Balancing
- Improve overall level and enemy balancing.
Deadman's Gun
During the beta, it was announced that those who were able to join can get "The Deadman's Gun." It seems there's going to be some delay since the team is still waiting for Steam to deliver the keys for the item. However, once that's received, the item can then be distributed to those qualified.
