Cyberpunk 2077 gets a new VP and Design Director. CD Projekt Red

Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, one of the directors behind the critically-acclaimed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, is back in the game. Recent developments have revealed Tomaszkiewicz is now VP of Game of Development and Design Director for CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 is an upcoming RPG, and serves as the next major project after the huge success ofThe Witcher series. While development on Cyberpunk 2077 is steady and on-going, the company has experienced a few hitches along the way. In January of this year, Sebastian Stephen, one of the directors working on Cyberpunk 2077, left CD Projekt Red to work at Blizzard. Tomaszkiewicz may have been brought in to pick up where Stephen left off, assuming the role of Vice President of Game Development and Director of Game Design.

Tomaszkiewicz’s new role at Cyberpunk 2077 was first discovered by an unlikely redditor who spotted the changes to Tomaszkiewicz’s LinkedIn profile.

While there’s definitely a lot of buzz going around Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red hasn’t exactly been forthcoming. Apart from the occasional developer update and the exciting work-in-progress gameplay teaser the devs uploaded last October 2018, nobody really knows that much about the highly-anticipated RPG. Luckily, CD Projekt Red has confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will be making an appearance at this year’s E3, so we can all look forward to that.

Will Tomaszkiewicz be able to bring the same quality of direction to Cyberpunk 2077? Given what we know so far, are you excited to see whether or not the next game from CD Projekt Red can match the quality of its predecessor? Let us know what you think in the comments section below!
