Negan might’ve destroyed more than just Glenn and Abraham’s skulls in The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere.

The Walking Dead producer Gale Anne Hurd recently spoke about the direction of the show now that Negan has taken over during an interview with Entertainment Tonight. Hurd revealed Rick’s reign as ruler is over, which is bad news for the people of Alexandria.

“We are no longer in the world of the Ricktatorship," Hurd told ET . "We've always seen Rick making the choices as to whether he wants to leave or not and what the premiere proved is that it's Negan's world that they're living in now. That was the brutal reckoning that made it very clear to Rick that things had changed completely… It is very much about Rick and the choices that he has made and has to accept and to realize and where he is in this new world order."

It’s possible the Ricktartorship is over for good. Even if Rick were to lead an uprising against Negan, it doesn’t mean he will become the new “leader” of all the communities. Everyone follows Negan out of fear, so it wouldn’t make sense for the communities to put someone who’s just as scary in charge.

Rick will have to learn how to live with other communities, but his immediate concern is staying on Negan’s good side. Negan is holding Daryl as his prisoner of war. If Rick even thinks about disobeying Negan, he runs the risk of hurting Daryl. Negan would kill Daryl, but first he would want to make sure Rick knew how much his friend suffered.

Another wildcard Rick will have to look out for is Maggie. She’s ready to get revenge against Negan. She likely won’t do anything to harm Negan while pregnant, but nine months is a long time to think about her next move. We wouldn’t be surprised if she begins plotting her takeover and butts heads with Rick during The Walking Dead Season 7. Still, it’s Negan’s world and Rick’s group will have to be extremely careful about what they do next.

The Walking Dead Season 7 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC.
