Released just a couple of weeks ago on February 2, 2021, Valheim is enjoying unprecedented success with over 2 million copies sold in such a short amount of time. Despite still being in Early Access, Valheim continues to break records - a few days ago for the concurrent player count and this time for hitting the huge sales milestone.

Valheim developer, Iron Gate AB, rightfully overjoyed at the positive response and wrote a post to the Valheim Community on Steam, profusely thanking players for their support, while celebrating everything the game has achieved this early. At the end of the post, the developer hinted that this is just the beginning and that there’s much more in store for fans.

“We are super excited to continue working together throughout 2021, as we bring you tons of cool new content, improvements and…ways to die, through the early access and beyond,” wrote Iron Gate AB.

Valheim is a Viking-themed open-world survival game designed to be played for one to 10 players. Featuring brutal, fast-paced combat, intuitive and strategic construction, and fierce conquests, the game is looking to be one of the best titles of the year, and the Steam Community apparently agrees.

With overwhelmingly positive reviews and a massive player count just weeks after hitting Early Access, Valheim has steadily been topping the charts. Right now, there are more players on Valheim than on GTA Online or PUBG according to Steam Charts, which is saying something since those titles have been at the top of Steam’s Most Played for years.
