TrinityS is coming to Steam Early Access on April 28. It’s from Indie-us Games and classifies itself as an MMO endgame-inspired boss rush action game. The game is priced at $14.99 but there’s a special promotion offering the game at a 20% discount until May 5.
In the game, players can form a party online and choose to play as either Knight, Wizard, or Priest. Once that’s done, they immediately jump into the excitement and challenge formidable bosses. That means unlike the usual level and gear grinding in typical MMOs, the game puts players immediately into the important part which is the boss battles.
In a statement, Director Daigo Hyodo shared that what served as inspiration for the game was the many late-night sessions of endgame boss battles from their favorite MMOs. He added that it was these encounters that resulted in their love for the genre.
Like the MMOs that came before it, TrinityS is a game where movement and positioning are important. That means a small error in judgment can result in death. For example, while standing still can provide buffs to the party, it also leaves the player vulnerable to attack. The goal is to find the right mix of defense and offense to survive against the monsters and win.
In between battles, players can arm their adventurers with skills and fine-tune their playstyle. Since the selection of skills after battles is random, it ensures that each playthrough is different. Players need to choose the one that suits them best and then discuss a strategy with teammates on how to take down the bosses.
When the game goes live in Early Access, there’s the option to buy the soundtrack along with the game for $19.99. The TrinityS Original Soundtrack can also be purchased individually for $6.99.
