Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction, formally known as Rainbow Six Quarantine, has been delayed again. The co-op tactical game was set to release on September 16 this year, but a few days ago, the developer announced delaying Extraction to January 2022.
Game Delayed
The developer made the delay to get more time to polish the game and justify the $60 price tag.
“Our ambition with Rainbow Six Extraction is to deliver a full-fledged AAA experience that changes the way you play and think about cooperative games,” Ubisoft stated.
The delay seems like a smart choice. From what I have seen about Extraction from trailers, it doesn’t exactly justify an AAA-game price tag. Maybe Ubisoft can add more content or increase the replayability of the existing content.
Extraction is not the only game Ubisoft has delayed. The new IP, Riders Republic, is postponed as well. Check out our previous article for more information.
Platforms and Cross-play
Rainbow Six Extraction will release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Amazon Luna, Google Stadia, and PC in January 2022. The game will support complete cross-play between all platforms. Both cross-save and cross-progression will also be supported.
Pre-Order and Different Editions
Pre-orders are now live as well. You can select for which platform you want to buy the game on the official site. Two different editions are available. The Standard Edition comes only with the base game, while the Deluxe Edition comes with some extra cosmetics goodies like The Noxious Touch Pack, The Obscura Pack, and The React Strike Pack. The former one costs $59.99, whereas the latter one will cost you $79.99. You can also choose to not buy the game and play it by subscribing to Ubisoft Plus when the title launches.
