'Pokémon GO' Regigigas Shadow Raid Guide: What Event Bonuses You Can Get, Start Time, and More

There's still time to save this Legendary titan from Team GO Rocket.

The Might and Mastery season might be coming to an end, but "Pokémon Go" isn't losing its pace. Next week, Niantic is releasing a fierce new challenge—Shadow Regigigas Raid Day, a temporary event that challenges trainers to save the giant Legendary Titan from Team GO Rocket's dark grip.

Shadow Regigigas Raid Day Schedule and Bonuses

Pokemon GO/Niantic

Between 2 PM and 5 PM local time, trainers globally will have three hours to engage in Shadow Regigigas Raids, rewarding some of the best rewards for this season. Don't forget to lock in on May 17, whether you're just grinding through Stardust, Shiny hunting this golem-like legendary, or simply training a PvP beast.

Here's what you can look forward to:

  • Up to 5 bonus free Raid Passes from Gym Photo Discs (6 total)
  • Higher Shiny probability for Regigigas in Shadow Raids
  • Increased base stats (Attack, Defense, HP) for Regigigas caught during the event
  • Remote Raid Passes are usable to enter Shadow Raids
  • Remote Raid Pass limit raised to 20 from May 16 at 5 PM to May 17 at 8 PM PDT

Timed Research With Stardust Galore

Along with the excitement of raids, trainers can complete free Timed Research during the event, earning precious Stardust:

  • 10,000 Stardust reward
  • 1,000 bonus Stardust per Raid Battle
  • Max of 3,000 Stardust per raid when you purchase the event ticket

Premium Perks with Shadow Raid Day Event Ticket

If you're looking to turbocharge your gameplay, an event ticket purchased for $4.99 releases significant bonuses, such as:

  • Eight additional Raid Passes (14 total from free bonuses)
  • Increased Rare Candy XL drop rate from Raids
  • 50% additional XP from Raid Battles
  • Double Stardust from Raid completions

According to Gameranx, this is the ideal ticket for high-level trainers who want to maximize rewards and snag a high-level Regigigas.

Ultra Ticket Box Provides Even Greater Value

Accessible solely through the Pokémon Go Web Store, the Regigigas Shadow Raid Day Ultra Ticket Box also sells for $4.99 but adds an extra layer of value by including a free Premium Battle Pass, not a bad addition to your raid team.

Team GO Rocket Isn't Done Yet

The Shadow Raid Day is only part of a more extensive narrative. Beginning May 14, the "Pokémon Go Crown Clash: Taken Over" will also commence. This Team GO Rocket event will feature Shadow Pokémon battles, greater research assignments, and additional raid opportunities.

Don't miss out on this event and remember: Niantic assured us that "Pokémon GO" isn't going away even after the Scopely deal. We're just not sure about the in-game spending changes that will happen.
