Nintendo’s E3 2015 livestream is freshly ended, and it announced a lot of really cool stuff, like Star Fox Zero. But the best thing about the presentation so far is simply how freaking awesome the presentation itself is. Because it has puppets. Nintendo puppets… not Muppets, but Nuppets? Something like that.

The Best Of Nintendo E3 2015: Puppets!

Everyone loves Muppets [citation needed]. Anybody with any heart, anyway. So Nintendo doing their darned best to rip them off is pretty brilliant. The Satoru Iwata, Reggie Fils-Aime, and Shigeru Miyamoto puppets are basically hosting the show, and I have to admit—their physicality is brilliant. Those goofy mouths!

The Star Fox puppets we saw at the beginning weren’t too bad either, but the people were the real winners. Especially the cameraman puppet, staring at Iwata and company, his jaw dropping as the other puppets transform into Fox, Falco, and Peppy (where’s poor Slippy?). It’s so much better than the stupid Mecha-Reggie gimmick last year.

This right here is as good as anything the Muppets have done in years.

Honestly, now that the Nintendo Digital Event at E3 2015 is over, I’ve got to admit that the puppets were probably the best thing about it—besides maybe for Star Fox Zero. We got lots of other cool trailers too
