Stray First-Person Mod Lets You See the World from the Eyes of a Cat

Stray Steam

Stray is an immersive title that lets you play as a cat in a world populated by machines, robots, and enemies. However, we now have a way to make the game even more immersive. Thanks to a modder, JessicaNatalia, you can now play Stray in first-person.

Stray - First-Person Mod

The mod titled Stray - First Person Mod does exactly what it sounds like. It lets you see the world as a cat in first-person mode, so if the third-person camera is immersion-breaking for you, this mod is for you.

You will be able to see every action in first-person, including running, jumping, and parkouring as a cat. You can watch the video above to see how the game will look. Everything looks so much taller because of how close the camera is to the ground.

Keep in mind that you may get headaches because of the mod; the game isn’t designed for first-person mode. I got a small headache just by looking at the footage above.

If you are interested in the mod, you will need to visit this website. You will need to make an account to download the necessary files.

About the Game

Stray is developed and published by BlueTwelve Studio and Annapurna Interactive, respectively. The game is a major success both financially and critically. It is currently a top seller on Steam and is already Annapurna's biggest launch ever.

The game has received a positive reception from both fans and critics. Currently, it sits at a 97% positive Steam rating and has an 8.9 User Score on Metacritic. The game isn’t perfect though. Some criticism leaned toward stuttering issues which the developer has already acknowledged ; we should get patches soon for those issues.

You can purchase Stray on PC, PS4, and PS5 for only $29.99. The physical edition for PlayStation 4 and 5 will be released on September 20.

So what do you think? Are you interested in the first-person mod of Stray? Have you played the game yet? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
