Star Wars: The Last Jedi will debut a different, more ferocious Captain Phasma.

Just like Boba Fett, Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) barely appears on-screen and mostly gets dunked on. Boba Fett gets killed by his own dumb jetpack and a hole in the ground while the First Order’s baddest-ass soldier ends The Force Awakens in a toilet. But you can’t argue with that look. It’s the sci-fi equivalent of a trench-coated silent assassin in an action movie. But wouldn’t it be nice if Phasma and Boba Fett were also interesting characters? A newly leaked detail from Star Wars: The Last Jedi offers hope that Episode 8 can transform Phasma from shiny chump into space barbarian.

As with almost every Star Wars leak, this new rumor was whispered to Making Star Wars, who writes that an anonymous source told them “you are going to love Captain Phasma’s spear in The Last Jedi. She looks killer.”

This could be nothing but a prop, but it could also be indicative of a more ferocious Phasma, one that has been transformed from cold, bureaucratic First Order apparatchik into a specter of vengeance. Because we all know her character arc going in. It doesn’t take any sort of set leak to be reasonably certain that Phasma will spend Episode 8 hunting down Finn, the stormtrooper who deserted her unit and locked her in waste disposal to die on the exploding Starkiller Base.

Why is it so intriguing that she’s using a spear? The spear is primordial, a weapon so ancient it was invented by our ancestor Homo heidelbergensis 500,000 years ago. The spear predates us as a species. There is no better weapon for raw violence and revenge in the barbarian mode, except maybe a rock.

Will Captain Phasma manage to skewer Finn? We’ll find out when Star Wars: Episode 8 The Lats Jedi comes out in theaters Dec. 15.
