If city life is stressing you out, then maybe it’s time for a breath of fresh air. The Sims 4 has you covered with its upcoming Cottage Living expansion pack. It’s going to introduce everyone to the countryside town, Henford-on-Bagley. The expansion will arrive on July 22 on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.

One of the things players can expect with this new expansion pack is village life. Unlike the city, pretty much everyone knows everyone is Henford-on-Bagley. You can pour your heart out, for example, at The Gnome’s Arms. Players can also go to the grocery stall to catch up on the latest gossip. If you’re the helpful type, ask the locals if they need it. For those who do, there could be some interesting presents offered as a reward.

Don’t forget to have fun as well during the Finchwick Fair, which typically arrives every week. There’s some competition introduced on a rotating basis.

Being in the countryside means a chance to live off the land, and that means fresh ingredients. You can grow produce or go and forage them in the wild. If that’s too much work, then just visit the village market. Those who can grow oversized crops can bring them over to the Finchwick Fair after harvest.

Besides produce, players can raise animals for food. Cows for milk and chickens for eggs. Now before you say it’s a bit boring, The Sims 4 has things ready. The relationship of a player with each animal results in how the animals respond. If they want to increase the relationship, they can use treats. But take note that different treats and moods can give interesting results.

If raising animals sounds like a chore, then why not befriend them? Wild animals like foxes, rabbits, and birds can give out gifts and even help in the garden.

Preorder for the Cottage Living Expansion Pack is now being accepted. Those who preorder the expansion pack get the "Gnome on the Go" Digital Content. This contains the Scenic Commuting Bicycle, “Onward” The Adventurous Gnome, and Bramblewood's DeLIGHTful Tree. For those who do miss the preorder period, don't worry since everyone has until September 2 to buy the expansion pack and get those freebies.

The Sims 4 is available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
