‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ Petition For PC Version Reaches 45,000 Signatures

Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS4 will be getting some timed-exclusive DLC Rockstar

Since Rockstar’s announcement trailer of Red Dead Redemption 2, anxious PS4 and Xbox One fans and players eagerly wait, but when will PC players get to bask in the same glory? Red Dead fan Aleo Aninda started this petition via change.org a month ago and it is making its way around the internet in hopes PC players don’t miss out on what could be the biggest console title release of 2017.

The original Red Dead Redemption was available on Xbox 360 and PS3 only and while the game was renowned for its story and originality, PC gamers never got to experience its magic. The petition pleads Rockstar to not make the same mistake twice:

Because Red Dead Redemption is an amazing game and we PC players have been denied from playing it. Please don't do the same with Red Dead Redemption 2.

With almost 50 thousand signatures (45,937 to be exact), the petition just may garner enough steam to convince Rockstar to step up and make it happen. With the success of Grand Theft Auto 5 on PC, RDR2’s branch into the PC world could work in Rockstar’s favor and offer a wide range of other possibilities in the RDR series (imagine all the whimsical mods!). We already know there will be a RDR2 Online, so why not give it-a-go Rockstar?

In addition to PC players, the Nintendo Switch, the newest console coming to market in March 2017, should not be excluded from the festivities of RDR2 either. While there isn’t a petition for the Nintendo Switch port, we hope Rockstar considers it as well.

As a diehard fan of Red Dead Redemption and soon to be Red Dead Redemption 2, consoles are where my video game journey started, but as a newcomer to the PC gaming world, a PC version of RDR2 would be a dream come true. Check out the petition and drop your signature if you’re inclined to show some love and support.
