Spawn killing has plagued Rainbow Six Siege online matches since the game’s launch. In order to curb the issue, the level designers at Ubisoft have worked really hard to make the latest South Korea map, Mok Myeok Tower, “unpeekable.” Instead of spawning on the ground, attackers spawn at the top of the tower, which defenders cannot reach. Tower is designed to feature no exterior gameplay—all the action is intended to take place in the building’s interior.

However, while attackers won’t get killed on the rooftops, they’ll be highly vulnerable down the rappel. Via YouTuber Coconut Brah Gaming, defenders can position themselves against tower windows to peek at attackers rappelling from above. As the YouTube video demonstrates, the three platforms that face the south side of the tower are extremely deadly.

The first spawn peek location comes from the East Observatory on the first floor. Vault over on the shrubbery and make your way over to the window frame. The second spawn peek location is the first-floor fountain, which is located just below the middle south rappel. Positioning against the window is more difficult this time: deploy a shield beside the dining table, vault over and move towards the window frame. Lastly, the third spawn peek location is first-floor West Observatory, which is just below the southwest rappel. Like the fountain, a deployable shield is necessary to platform jump to the window frame. Beware: if performed incorrectly, players risk falling out the window to their deaths.

The worst thing about spawn killing on Tower is the fact that attackers are suspended in a rappel animation for at least 2.5 seconds before control is handed back, long enough that defenders can pick them off without any retaliation whatsoever. So, how should attackers counter the latest spawn peeks? The best way would be to avoid the southern rappels altogether. Instead, work on pushing from the north side or from the elevator shaft in the middle.

Stay frosty.
