Last week Ubisoft released two new updates for Rainbow Six Siege Y5S1.1, which bought in a game-breaking bug. The bug changed the lighting for the map Consulate, making it very dark throughout the map.
Also, with the ongoing pandemic, the number of hackers and cheaters has increased by a huge margin to a point where it's almost more effort than it is worth to have fun.
One of the pro players from LATAM, MIBR cameram4n, tweeted about the Consulate lighting bug and many other pro players were super angry about the patch that led to the issue. Later, Ubisoft decided to temporarily ban the map from competitive and ranked play.
Today they have finally deployed a patch with a downtime of 20 minutes which will fix the consulate lighting bug and probably a few others which weren’t mentioned. Rainbow Six Siege tweeted the following details of the new fix.
Consulate Lighting Hot-Fix
- A hot-fix for the lighting issue on Consulate will be pushed today, 30th March.
- Platform: PC Only
- Time: 10:00 EDT / 14:00 UTC Estimated
- Downtime: 20 minutes
Now, this is an improvement, we can finally play one of the pro league maps in ranked again without actually worrying about the dark parts of the map and players hiding in the corners. This also means that Ubisoft will remove the temporary ban from Consulate and the map will be playable in Pro League and Ranked again.
Many pro players are happy by the fact that consulate is playable again because the map is overall balanced and you can make up new strategies to attack and defend the site every single round with the ongoing meta.
So, what are your thoughts on the new Rainbow Six Siege patch? Did you experience any of the bugs yourself? Are you excited to be able to play consulate once again? Whatever your thoughts may be, let us know in the comments below.
