Primal Carnage: Extinction is an asymmetrical multiplayer game that features humans and dinosaurs fighting each other for supremacy. Players can choose between different game modes, such as team deathmatch, survival co-op, and free roam, among others.

Recently, developers launched Patch 2.8.1 which brought some changes to dinosaurs. For example, the spitter’s base movement speed has been slightly lowered to +80%. This affects both the Cryolophosaurus and Dilophosaurus. Also, the issue where you cannot play as the Tyrant for the first minute of team deathmatch, even though the class limit requirements are met, has finally been fixed.

Patch 2.8.1 for Primal Carnage: Extinction implemented other improvements as well. Developers increased the size of audio memory streaming pools to prevent stutter. Furthermore, the roughness and reflectivity of dinosaur skin have been refined to look more realistic.

  • Cryo spit vision now lasts only half as long before it starts to fade out compared to Dilophosaurus
  • Added more hints for Ptera and Tupa abilities
  • Increased size of audio memory streaming pools to prevent stutter
  • Optimized and updated first-person sounds for sniper rifle, flaregun
  • Updated sound class settings, adjusted volume and distance filtering of weapon and explosion sounds
  • Reduced the chances of the "double spawn issue" occurring (still happens with poor latency)
  • Adjustments to a few human skins, reduced first-person arm brightness
  • Model fixes for Serratus Cerato and Primigenus Tupa mutations
  • Changed default eye intensity value to be less bold
  • Extinction Point amounts for completing Weekly Challenges are now listed on the main menu
  • Increased challenge reward EXP: New values for each tier are 2,000, 4,500 and 9,000
  • Fixed the Scientist not playing footstep sounds when moving around with the compound bow
  • Fixed looping weapon audio persisting after death and into cutscenes sometimes
  • Fixed heavy weapon melee on a few guns triggering weapon fire effects
  • Fixed lighting not being built on PhantomCave
  • Fixed a shipping container not being solid on DesertionPoint
  • Fixed bumping into invisible walls when flying inside the Borealis ice cave chasm
  • Fixed the Viridescent Green color bucket being inconsistent between Colourizer and in-game
  • If you colorize more than one skin in a row, they should now all have their correct colors without needing to restart the game

Primal Carnage: Extinction Patch 2.8.1 is available on PlayStation 4 and PC.
