Niantic has officially announced "Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos," giving Trainers access to highly anticipated Mega Evolutions from "Pokémon Legends: Z-A."
Set for February 28 and March 1, 2026, the event features Mega Raids, shiny Pokémon, and collectible special backgrounds celebrating the Kalos region.
Mega Evolutions Make Their 'Pokémon GO' Debut
For the first time in "Pokémon GO," Mega Victreebel and Mega Malamar will appear in Mega Raids. Trainers can battle Mega Victreebel on February 28 and Mega Malamar on March 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time.
Both have a chance to appear as Shiny, giving collectors and competitive players extra incentive to participate.
Special Backgrounds Celebrate Kalos
According to BleedingCool, players who catch raid bosses can earn three limited-time Special Backgrounds inspired by Kalos:
- X-themed background: Pikachu with Calem's hat, Serena's hat, Honedge, and Xerneas
- Y-themed background: Pikachu with Calem's hat, Serena's hat, Honedge, and Yveltal
- Mega Evolution-themed background: For all Pokémon caught during Mega Raids
Shiny Diancie Joins the Game
The event also debuts Shiny Diancie, obtainable by completing the Masterwork Research quest. This rare Pokémon is a must for collectors aiming to complete their Shiny Pokédex and secure one of the newest legendary Pokémon in "Pokémon GO."
Why Trainers Should Join
"Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos" is a can't-miss event for fans eager to experience new Mega Evolutions, collect special backgrounds, and add Shiny Diancie to their roster. What's more, you might not see or get the limited-time rewards anymore once the event expires.
It's a rare opportunity to catch the new Mega Evolutions in the latest game. Collectors shouldn't ignore this event if they want to be the best Pokémon trainer in the world.
