'Forza Horizon 6' Reviews: Do Fans, Critics Love the Game?

It has been 14 years since the first "Forza Horizon" game has been released, and it looks like the series is showing no signs of slowing down.

It has only been a few days since the release of the latest game, "Forza Horizon 6," but has it been a hit among critics and fans alike? Let's find out.

'Forza Horizon 6'

Released on May 19, 2026, "Forza Horizon 6" is the sixth mainline entry of the "Forza Horizon" series. It is developed by Playground Games and published by Xbox Game Studios.

Set in Japan, this latest racing game offers the franchise's largest open world map. The dynamic weather system and seasonal changes seen in previous games have still been applied to "Forza Horizon 6."

Over 550 cars were launched when the game was released, and the good news is all of them can be customized by players.

What Do the Critics Say?

"Forza Horizon 6" has been on the receiving end of glowing reviews from critics. IGN, for example, has given it a 10 out of 10 rating.

'Technically, 'Forza Horizon 6 has not' skipped a beat, and it runs like a titan," IGN's review states. "Aesthetically, it's the best-looking and best-sounding game Playground has produced to date, set in the most wonderfully realised map it's ever crafted – full of dense, authentic details and stunning driving roads."

"It's rewarding to explore, the campaign is well-paced with a great payoff, and I simply cannot stop playing," the review adds.

On Metacritic, the game has a score of 91 based on 73 critic reviews as of press time.

Gamers Heroes, one of the critics, gave it a score of 100, noting that "To no one's surprise, 'Forza Horizon 6' provides the best racing experience this year - even if 'Grand Theft Auto VI' hits."

Insider Gaming also gave the game a score of 100, saying that "'Forza Horizon 6's' Banksy-level vistas of Japan are breathtaking, and the improvements to the progression system have placed the title at the pinnacle of the racing genre once again."

'Very Positive' Reviews on Steam

Over on Steam, "Forza Horizon 6" has more than 53,000 user reviews as of press time, and Steam as categorized these reviews as "Very Positive."

"I've played every 'Forza' game since the beginning, and somehow 'Forza Horizon 6' still managed to surprise me," Steam user MonsieurSpike said in a review.

"The map is easily the best in the series," MonsieurSpike explained. "One minute you're drifting through mountain passes near Mount Fuji, the next you're weaving through packed city highways during a thunderstorm."

"'Forza Horizon 6' is the first game in the series that I've ever played - and honestly, now I'm wondering why I didn't start playing earlier," user brokenbonez. said in a separate review.

"The map is absolutely beautiful. Whether it's cities, landscapes, or small hidden places, there's always something to discover," the Steam user went on to say. "Graphically, this game is just TOP."
