Persona 5 Atlus

During the “Take The Treasure” Persona 5 livestream on Nico Nico Monday, Atlus revealed loads of new gameplay footage of the hotly anticipated RPG, focusing primarily on after-school activities and activities other than combat and dungeon exploration.

The eighteen minutes of footage includes going on a date, fishing, sparring, doing crossword puzzles (?), playing retro video games and eating a meal in a restaurant where the waitresses are dressed like sexy maids. The bulk of these activities seem to be devoted to enhancing the protagonist’s traits, like intelligence or courage. It seems the game will also introduce a crafting system, allowing the main character to customize equipment and items outside a shop.

The videos below come via DualShockers, who have produced a number of short YouTube clips from the “Take The Treasure” Persona 5 livestream.

Here’s the protagonist on a date with Futaba:

Later, our main character runs into Anne at the confessional booth. She doesn’t seem too happy to see him there:

Finally, a look at the new crafting system:

The confessional booth footage is particularly interesting, given that Persona fans on reddit have long speculated the game will have a "seven deadly sins" motif or theme. This new information about the game seems to support those theories.

Gematsu reports the livestream is a countdown to tomorrow’s Persona 5 Premium Event on Nico Nico, which will make seven new announcements about the game, starting at 6:30 a.m. EDT.

Persona 5 comes to the PS3 and PS4 in Japan Sept. 15, and debuts in North America on Valentine's Day 2017.
