Is New 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' Planet Where Luke Reunites With Lando Calrissian In 'Episode 8'?

It seems all but certain that Lando Calrissian will return in future "Star Wars" sequels.

Rumors and set leaks hold that part of Star Wars: The Last Jedi will take Rey and Luke Skywalker to a galactic casino, a rare look at the richer realms of the Star Wars universe, away from the fringe planets and remote Rebel outposts where we spend most of our time. Though his appearance remains just a rumor, if Lando Calrissian is going to appear in Star Wars: Episode 8, a casino would be the most likely location. Star Wars: Episode 8 filmed several scenes in the medieval walled city of Dubrovnik in Croatia that were probably for the movie’s casino sequences. A lot of rumors and potential spoilers came from that set, which built a galactic city right out in the open for tourists to photograph.

And now, thanks to a new leak from Making Star Wars, we think we know the planet’s name. The Dubrovnik locations will be used to portray the planet of Canto Bight.

There was a lot of action captured during the Dubrovnik Canto Bight shoot, involving a speeder, a fancy alien cocktail party, local police and some sort of giant, Neverending Story -esque horse-dog. Canto Bight is where Rey, Finn and Luke are likely to run into Justin Theroux’s computer hacker character.

The combined set leaks and rumors suggest Canto Bight will be one of the most pivotal locations in The Last Jedi. And if ever Billy Dee Williams returns as Lando Calrissian, what better place than around a casino planet’s sabacc table?
