With less than two weeks to go before the official release of Persona 5 in the Americas and Europe, PlayStation Access released a lengthy new gameplay video that provides an in-depth look at the dungeon crawling and school life aspects of the game.

As much as the footage illustrates how far the Persona series has evolved, it sounds like some things haven’t changed too much. PlayStation Access’ Hollie describes getting one-hit K.O.’ed by a random Hama / Light spell during a palace run. So it sounds like P5 will still offer longtime fans of the franchise plenty of opportunities to ragequit after losing two hours of progress.

The video also gives a good look at how Persona fusion in the Velvet Room will work, as well as the Confidant / Social Link system and optional after-school activities like reading and renting movies. This time around, it seems that advancing Confidant levels for all arcana will unlock new skills and bonuses, not just those arcana linked to playable characters.
