'Plants vs. Zombies' New Game Leak: Details, Release Date

Gematsu has shared a report regarding a potential new "Plants vs. Zombies" game that is under development called "Plants vs. Zombies: Reloaded" that is coming soon.

The leak came from the Brazilian Government's Ministry of Justice and Public Security as a post on their website unveiled the rating of the game in the country, with the title getting the "L" rating. This means "Livre," which translates to it being "unrestricted" and is recommended to be played by players of all ages, similar to its previous rating in the US and other regions.

The Brazilian rating also reveals that the game would be arriving on multiple platforms as well, and this includes the PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and X, iOS, and Android. Its original developer, PopCap Games, will still head its development, and Electronic Arts is publishing the game.

In another report, Dealabs shared that the game is slated for an October 23 release date this year.

'Plants vs. Zombies' Remaster Is Coming?

Dealabs also revealed that this next game for the franchise is set to be a remaster of the original game, which was originally released in 2009 by PopCap Games. The report also claimed that this remaster is also getting a name that is different from the listing on the Brazilian website and Gematsu's report, which referred to it as "Plants vs. Zombies: Reloaded."

According to Dealabs, the new remaster in the works would be named as "Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted."

It was revealed that this "Plants vs. Zombies" remaster will be priced at 19.99 Euros or around $23, as the developers are "staying true" to the affordability of the game's original version 14 years ago.

That being said, the game will feature modern elements and improvements but will largely stay true to the original release's story, mechanics, characters, and more, encapsulating the iconic title from 2009.

PopCap Games and EA are reportedly planning an official announcement for this game by next month.
